Title: Digital Designer

Location: Our head office is based in Derby, but we support remote working

Salary: £28,000 to £34,000 dependent on experience

The Role

There has never been a more exciting time to join our rapidly growing marketing team. As a Digital Designer you will be working closely with the UX team and will be responsible for designing our digital customer journey.

You will work on a real variety of exciting projects to help us deliver the best in class the user experience and will bridge the gap between the UX team and front-end developers by delivering exceptional UI designs, flows and concepts

Responsibilities

  • Gather stakeholder requirements
  • Propose and sketch out a range of visual concepts for stakeholder review
  • Liaise regularly with lead UI designer
  • Attend meetings to discuss and review progress on the project
  • Write reports and communicate the results of your work
  • Identify possible a/b test iterations as a result of proposed designs
  • Designing online content, including email templates, social media, promotional artwork, iconography, illustration and informative ebooks
  • Collaborating with the e-commerce, CRM and marketing teams to ensure that all designs align with the brand image, while also meeting usability and web standards
  • Ensuring consistency in designs and content across all platforms
  • Transforming wireframes into polished designs
  • Reviewing product positioning and online marketing content to identify room for improvement
  • Working with the IT department to oversee the smooth implementation of new content
  • Providing advice and guidance on the aesthetic for campaigns, projects, and promotional events

Desired Skills

  • Commercial experience as a Digital designer
  • A high level of concentration and resilience to stay focused on a project to the end and meet deadlines
  • Experience working with style guides/libraries/design systems
  • Experience working with adobe creative suite; Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Premiere / After effects (optional)
  • Innovative thinker with the ability follow up with execution
  • Empathy with the customer so that you can understand what they want from the website/app
  • Excellent written communication skills, with an eye for detail
  • An aptitude for using a logical, step-by-step approach to ensure designs are user friendly and simple for end users
